What are you working on right now at The Village at Providence Point?

Transitioning from civil design to civil construction administration to ensure the construction is in line with the construction permit drawings and specifications. Construction administration includes review and approval of contractors' submittals for site and utility materials and responses to Requests for Information (RFI) to clarify design intent and resolve any discrepancies in the plans and/or coordination issues with other design consultants.

What’s happening on site that might not be obvious?

The extensive amount of design coordination with below grade utilities. All underground utilities including electric, gas, telecommunications, water, sewer, and storm drain must be coordinated so as not conflict with other utilities while still meeting design standards of the authority having jurisdiction.

What experience does Johnson Bernat Associates bring to this work?

Johnson Bernat’s experience with site layouts, planning, utility, and stormwater design allowed us to implement certain design strategies into the development for this independent living, assisted living, and healthcare project. This also includes the green roofs that are an important part of the project. Our experience in those civil engineering fundamentals also allowed us to adapt to the stringent guidelines and requirements set upon the project by the city of Annapolis.
